Your phone is buzzing with sign leads, and by Friday you can't remember who texted about which house. It's easy to lose track when leads come in between showings, and even easier when the same sign has moved across three listings this year.
The fix is simple: send every SimpleSignCalls lead into a Google Sheet automatically. No coding, and it runs while you sleep. Here's how to set it up in about 15 minutes.
The short answer: yes, SimpleSignCalls can send leads to Google Sheets. With the Zapier, every new lead from your codes becomes a new row with the phone number, message, date, and code they texted.
- You need SimpleSignCalls, a Zapier account, and a Google account.
- Setup takes about 15 minutes.
- Once it's on, every lead logs itself.
Why bother with a spreadsheet?
- Every lead in one place, sorted by date.
- You can see who texted which code, and when.
- You can share it with an assistant or teammate.
- It's an easy stepping stone before, or alongside, a full CRM.
One tip: because your sign and its code move from listing to listing, add a "Property" column. The date plus the code tells you which listing the sign was on, and the property column makes that obvious at a glance.
Step 1: Set up your Google Sheet
- Open Google Sheets.
- Create a new spreadsheet.
- Type these headers in row 1: Name, Phone Number, Message, Date, Code, Property.
- Name the sheet, for example "Sign Leads."
The headers become the fields you match in Zapier, so keep them in the top row.
Step 2: Create the Zap
- Log in to Zapier.
- Click Create, then Zaps.
- For the trigger, open the SimpleSignCalls invite you got from the beta link, then pick SimpleSignCalls.
- Choose the new lead trigger.
- Connect your SimpleSignCalls account.
- Click Test trigger to pull in a sample lead.
SimpleSignCalls isn't in Zapier's public app directory yet. Join the beta from our Zapier integration page, then connect your account in Zapier.
Step 3: Send it to Google Sheets
- For the action, search for Google Sheets.
- Choose Create Spreadsheet Row.
- Connect your Google account.
- Select your "Sign Leads" spreadsheet and worksheet.
- Match each SimpleSignCalls field to its column.
- Click Test step and check the sample row.
Step 4: Turn it on and test it
- Name your Zap, for example "New Sign Leads to Google Sheet."
- Click Publish.
- Text one of your codes to your SimpleSignCalls number.
- Check that a new row appears in the sheet.
That's it. Every new lead now shows up automatically.
What else can you automate?
Once the basic Zap works, you can add steps to:
- send yourself an email or Slack alert,
- sort buyers and sellers into different tabs, or
- push the lead into your CRM too.
FAQ
Do I need a paid Zapier plan?
A simple two-step Zap like this one usually works on Zapier's free plan. You may want a paid plan later if you add more steps or handle a lot of leads. Check Zapier's pricing page for current limits.
What information gets logged?
Typically the lead's phone number, their message, the date, and which code they texted, plus a name if one is available. You choose which fields go into which columns.
How do I know which listing a lead came from if my sign moves?
Look at the code and the date. Your sign keeps the same code from listing to listing, so the date tells you where it was. Fill in the Property column, or add a Zapier step that does it, to make it obvious.
Can I send leads to my CRM instead?
Yes. Zapier connects with most CRMs, so you can send leads to your CRM, to Google Sheets, or to both at once.
Can someone help me set it up?
Yes. If you get stuck, contact us and we'll walk you through it.
